Hey everyone! Its been a while!
So, I’ve been a little scattered lately. C & I took several trips to the Minnesota State Fair where I tried out some of my vintage cameras. IN the weeks that followed, I tried to get around the metro area and take photos of all those places I had jotted down in my notebook all summer. I’ve had some difficulty getting my 6×9 cam negatives scanned in– so at the moment the only example I have to show are the Sabre 620 shots. Enjoy! More are to come!
I’ve not done as much thrifting lately– or maybe its that I’ve gone thrifting but have been very selective about what I bring home! Nevertheless, let me highlight a few finds from the past couple weeks:
1. A ri-donk-ulously huge (5.5 x 9 feet!)48-star sewn flag. What is it with me and flags lately? I’m seriously not looking for them, but I keep finding good ones! The first flag sold on Ebay to someone in Australia. C & I got a kick out of that. I put the 2nd one up and it just sold to someone in the UK. Why are foreigners buying up all of our flags? Anyone have any ideas?
2. & 3. – Cup & Tray. This little cup is older than it looks– made in Japan. Super little. Super cute. It really called out to me! The tray is a midcentury fiberglass creation– great pattern. I hemmed and hawwed for a while, but I’m glad I decided to bring it home! Both are in my etsy store right now.
4. A great Reed & Barton silver bowl. After passing up a couple of these a few weeks back because they were expensive & damaged, I was happy to find another Reed & Barton bowl for my collection. Cheap & hardly any damage! A word to the wise– pass up any with too many scratches or enamel loss– its just not worth it!
5. Jack-o-lantern. The thrift stores are jammed with crappy Halloween stuff right now! I’ve been looking for things to light up our window for the holiday, and this one was pretty funny with the hat and all. Why not? I just need a light to stick inside and he’ll add some Halloween cheer to the neighborhood!
That’s all for now! Thanks for reading! Keep on hunting!
